Brisbane Modern Quilt Guild

#BrisMQG

Events

The primary event coordinated by the BrisbaneMQG are our monthly Sew Days.

We meet on the third Sunday of the month at The Hub, 171 Dandenong Rd, Mt Ommaney

Members and visitors are encouraged to bring along their current project and sew with us.  The Hub is fully airconditioned and powered, however we suggest that if participants bring their sewing machine, they also bring an extension cord and power board.

We also encourage members to bring along any recent finishes to share with the guild.  We love to see what each other is working on, and  to enthuse over each others triumphs.

During the year BrisMQG will be running a number of extra events. Our members will be given priority access to these events, but if these spaces are open within the given registration time frame these spaces will be offered to non-members.

Upcoming Events

 2016 – Winter Retreat

BrisMQG Winter Retreat

Members will be heading up to Esk to get our Sew On.  Spaces for this event have all been filled at this time.

Past Events

2015 Retreat

Members headed up to the beautiful QCCC Mt Tambourine for an extra long weekend of sewing and frivolity. With sewing until the wee small hours, and then half the group back up at sunrise to sew some more, the machines had about 2 hours of peace each night.  A fantastic event, which was enjoyed by all and will be repeated.

Brisbane MQG stand - 2015 Stitches and Craft Fair

Several of our members provided quilts to be shown at the recent Stitches and Craft Show, held in Brisbane.

Members enjoyed sharing our quilts, and had a very positive reaction from the show-goers.
