Making and donating quilts for the Community is a major activity within the Brisbane Modern Quilt Guild.
The BrisMQG Community Quilt Project is coordinated through our Communities Sub-Committee, with quilts being made by BrisMQG members.
We aim to create 12 Community Quilts each year. These quilts, or the proceeds of sale of these quilts, will be donated to selected beneficiaries every year.
Some BrisMQG members generously donate their time to assemble, quilt and bind our Community Quilts, ensuring they are beautifully finished.
We warmly welcome donations of wadding, cotton thread, backing or fabric from the wider community to support our projects.
We hope the recipients will be overwhelmed to receive the gift of a handmade quilt, or the funds raised from their sale.
If your organisation would benefit from quilt donations, please contact us using the below form and we will consider adding you to our list of recipients. Please be conscious that these quilts are made with love and that priority will go to organisations with less resources and which are of a charitable nature.
At this time, the BrisMQG is partnering with the Salvation Army to provide quilts to people in need of emergency accommodation.
