Making and donating quilts for the Community is a major activity within the Brisbane Modern Quilt Guild. Many members are involved, but it is very much an activity that each person picks up when they have capacity within their lives. There are blocks available to sew, tops available to put together, whole tops available to quilt, binding to sew, or you could make a whole quilt if you wish. I know one member who would be grateful just for your scraps, as long as you cut them up in 2.5″ squares for her…
We coordinate our community quilts through a Facebook group and our amazing community coordinator and have been able to make substantial bi-annual donations to the Salvation Army’s family violence shelters for the past few years. Our relationship with this team is incredibly important and special to us, and we work closely with them to make sure we are doing what we can as a small gesture to assist their important work.
We regularly receive generous donations of patchwork fabric for our community quilts, which mostly goes into the tops and background fabrics, but we do from time to time need additional wadding roll donations and wideback fabrics to make our amazing long-armers lives a little easier. Please contact us on BrisbaneMQG@gmail.com if you may be able to assist.

Hello,
I adore the quilt you created as an interpretation of the theme “free”! Do you have any similar quilts available for purchase?
Thanks for your time,
Denae
