The BrisbaneMQG was out in force at the Stitches and Craft Show held in Brisbane on 19 – 22 of March.
With quilts on display from several of our members, we had an incredibly positive response form the showgoers. A crowd favourite was definitely the Fox by Kim D, which had people coming from the other end of the hall to see up close. June S’s Tula Pink Sampler was also a winner with Guild members being told off because the pattern had sold out at the Show. The range of techniques in these quilts meant that we spent lots of time walking around with people and discussing hand dying, wonky piecing, nested churn dashes and flying geese. But we did have time to sit and do some hand sewing (or unsewing in some cases).
We are looking forward to next year’s show already!
